With all this beautiful weather we've had, I'm itching to get outside and get my patio ready for entertaining. It's never too early to start planning! Here's some inspiration to get the wheels turning!
I love how they've tucked a little dining spot into a lovely corner of their yard. Nothing really matches, but because it's so informal and mis-matched, it works. The textiles definitely help to pull it all together. I feel like you can do this more outside than inside. Think of the green of the outdoors as your neutral backdrop.
No matter how ordinary the space, globe lights always make it feel magical. Hang them criss cross over an area (like they've done above) or swagged along a fence or porch.
I've had this picture in my inspiration files for years. Don't you just love it? I have a porch that runs adjacent to my kitchen with a bistro table just outside the kitchen window. I serve lunch to my kids through the window - super fun and makes the ordinary kind of special.
Here's a picture of a little "cabana" that I have in a corner of my yard. My husband and I built this years ago out of necessity. We were trying to add a little privacy to our yard, while providing our kids with a little place to perform and call their own. Now that the kids have outgrown it, it serves as a potting station, and, more importantly, a bar when we have outdoor parties. It definitely needs an upgrade - it looks pretty kitschy, but we love it.
You can instantly create an outdoor room with some Adirondack chairs surrounding a fire pit. We burn fires in our fire pit year round - even in the summer because they keep the bugs away!
Okay I'm heading outside to get started! Goodbye!
Until next time!
